Alaa Crepe — Digital Menu & CMS for a Crêpe Shop (Tripoli, Lebanon)
An Arabic-first digital menu with a built-in CMS for Alaa Crepe, a crêpe and sweets shop in Al Tabbaneh, Tripoli, open since 2018. The owner edits dishes, prices, sizes, offers and opening hours from a custom admin panel. Customers browse a mobile-first menu with a sticky section bar and search, and order through WhatsApp. Every dish gets its own page in both Arabic and English, with structured data and FAQs, so individual items can rank in search. It's built with Next.js 15, SQLite and a self-hosted Node server behind Cloudflare, with tag-based edge cache purging. In mobile Lighthouse it scores 97–98 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO.

Alaa Crepe has been serving crêpes and sweets in Al Tabbaneh, Tripoli since 2018. This project replaces the printed menu with a fast, Arabic-first digital menu that the owner runs themselves. It also includes a printable QR menu and table cards that link to it.
Stack
Built on Next.js 15 (App Router) with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, with SQLite for data and photos stored on disk. It runs as a standalone Node server under PM2 on a VPS, with Cloudflare in front as the CDN.
Built-in CMS
A custom admin panel manages categories, dishes, any number of sizes per dish, prices, offers, opening hours (including past midnight) and the delivery area. Saving a change purges just the affected pages at the edge by cache tag, so updates show up immediately without giving up caching.
SEO by design
Arabic is served at the root and English under /en, each with its own server-rendered lang and dir. Every dish has its own page in both languages, with a price, a summary, generated FAQs and structured data, so a question like “how much is a Nutella crêpe in Tripoli” can land on a specific dish.
Performance
Inlined CSS, Arabic-only font subsets and lazy menu rows keep the menu fast on the phones people use at the table. In mobile Lighthouse it scores 97–98 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO.
